HARVESTED
Our journey begins in the coffee plantations, where ripe cherries are carefully handpicked and processed. These origins form the heart of our coffee with flavors deeply rooted in the soil and shaped by terroir, altitude, and growing conditions. Each farm brings its own distinct profile to the cup — whether bright and fruity, smooth and sweet, or rich and bold.
But coffee is more than just a crop — it’s a craft. The coffee producers, whom we proudly call friends, are at the heart of this journey. With patience and dedication, they care for each harvest, ensuring quality at every step. The post-harvest processing method, whether washed or natural, plays a crucial role in shaping the final cup. Together, these elements create the diverse flavors that cater to the diverse tastes around Europe.

ROASTED
Roasting takes place in Germany in small batches, where we focus on revealing the full potential of each coffee bean. Our goal is simple: to optimize the coffee's natural aroma, sweetness, acidity, and the perfect touch of bitterness. Roasting, for us, is both an art and a science. With our deep understanding of chemistry, we carefully fine-tune the process to unlock the coffee’s soluble chemistry at its best. We track critical factors like water activity and moisture content, and pay special attention to the timing of the first crack, as well as the development phase that follows. This ensures the bean undergoes complete inner development. By sustaining the Maillard reaction and guiding the caramelization process, we aim to extract the optimal flavor from each bean. From applying the right amount of energy at the start to the precise timing of ejection, every step along the way is carefully crafted to bring out the fullest, most balanced flavor profile possible.

PACKED
After roasting and allowing the coffee beans to settle and breathe, we pack them in one-way valve bags to preserve freshness and extend shelf life. The beans are then stored in a cool, dark place, away from refrigeration. To be transparent, we handwrite the roasting date, packaging date, and best served-before date on the back of each pack. Ultimately, it all comes down to you—whether it’s for early mornings, late-night sips, or a midday gathering, we invite you to find your taste at qahwah.
